At month’s end, I leave on a road trip across America.
I’ll be traveling down through the Blue Ridge and Smoky Mountains, across Tennessee, Arkansas, Texas, the Four Corner States, Nevada and through Southern California.
National Parks are the goal and of that, there are many including Zion, Arches, Grand Canyon, Sequoia, Death Valley, the Pisgah, Jefferson and Ozark National Forests – and my personal coup de grace, Yosemite.
The majority of this trip is only loosely planned, and quite frankly, that’s the point. The goal is to experience the beauty, grandeur and diversity of America and I expect that a great deal of that will come from the unexpected. Small towns, side roads, people of all shapes, sizes and persuasions, hidden pockets of this land of ours, et al.
I’ll also be devoting a great deal of time to self via solitude, reflection, spirituality – and writing.
Writing is one of those things that I’ve always meant to do more of and then like many things in life, never really gotten around to. My goal is to post as much of it online as possible and should I be fortunate enough that you read some of it, I’d aim to be able to take you, the reader, with me in some small way. I’m working out the details on the blog, and will share the URL soon. Until then…
Happy trails.
