Rio Rico, AZ is an awful long way from Williamsville, NY…

In distance, topography, climate and likely a myriad of other ways as well.

Well, I stopped in at a Mexican restaurant a few miles from the border, in Rio Rico, AZ, on the way to my hotel in Nogales.

And of all the things I might have potentially thought I’d see upon getting there, perhaps last upon that long, long, long list would be have been live reggae music.

But live reggae music there was.

And so I sat in a Mexican restaurant on a Friday night, enjoying dinner, a few miles from the border in Rio Rico, AZ listening to live reggae music – and pretty good live reggae music at that.

Surprise.

Amongst the many benefits of travel, pleasant surprise ranks pretty high up upon that list.
